About the show

In 1977 radio personality and genius, Kenny Everett presented a show called The World's Worst Wireless Show on London's Capital Radio.

He asked listeners to send in their worst records and tapes and played them on air, eventually getting people to vote on them and presenting a Bottom 30 count-down.

Sadly, Kenny passed away too young and with the exception of a one-off reprise in 1980, never repeated the format.

The shows still have a cult status today and one such fan of it is Alex East, who continued to collect the wierd, wild and wacky.

He decided to pick up where his idol left pff and now presents a weekly, hour-long freak show called Eastie's Diabolical Discs.

About the Presenter

Alex has been DJing for over 25 years. He started out, as so many do in hospital radio in his home town of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
After brief stints in Spain and again in the UK he moved to the USA and was hired a drive-time host on a Spanish Radio station.
After only a year on air audience figures increased more than tenfold.
He then took on a Saturday night dance show imaginatively called "Let's Dance" which again attracted a large audience.

He then decided to take his old Pub Quiz format and translate it to the radio and so Eastie's Pub Quiz was born.
Rock 'n' Roll was always his first love though, so he decided to write a book called The Encyclopedia of Rock 'n' Roll which can be purchased from www.rocknrollencyclopedia.com. All the proceeds of the book going to the American Heart Foundation. He decided that the book would make a great radio show, so It's Only Rock 'n' Roll took to the airwaves and was very well received around the world, being aired on radio stations on 4 continents and drawing fans from every corner of the world.
Alex now lives in California with his wife and two sons.
